Pre-Start Checks
- Verify all piping connections are tight and correctly routed
- Confirm drive air supply is clean and dry (filtered to 5 μm)
- Check that inlet and outlet valves are closed
- Verify safety valve is installed and set to the correct relief pressure
- Ensure all personnel are clear of the pressure zone
Start-Up Sequence
- 1. Open the process gas inlet valve slowly
- 2. Open the drive air supply valve slowly
- 3. Observe the pump begin reciprocating
- 4. Gradually open the outlet valve
- 5. Monitor output pressure on the gauge
- 6. Adjust drive air pressure to achieve target output
Verification
After stable operation is achieved, verify the output pressure is within the expected range. Listen for smooth, regular reciprocation — irregular sounds may indicate a stuck valve or seal issue. If everything is normal, the pump is ready for continuous operation.
