Gas Booster Pump: First Start-Up Operation Procedure

Pre-Start Checks

  • Verify all piping connections are tight and correctly routed
  • Confirm drive air supply is clean and dry (filtered to 5 μm)
  • Check that inlet and outlet valves are closed
  • Verify safety valve is installed and set to the correct relief pressure
  • Ensure all personnel are clear of the pressure zone

Start-Up Sequence

  • 1. Open the process gas inlet valve slowly
  • 2. Open the drive air supply valve slowly
  • 3. Observe the pump begin reciprocating
  • 4. Gradually open the outlet valve
  • 5. Monitor output pressure on the gauge
  • 6. Adjust drive air pressure to achieve target output

Verification

After stable operation is achieved, verify the output pressure is within the expected range. Listen for smooth, regular reciprocation — irregular sounds may indicate a stuck valve or seal issue. If everything is normal, the pump is ready for continuous operation.
